Jojobaöl

INCI-Bezeichnung: Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil

Origin

Jojoba oil is extracted from the seeds of the jojoba shrub (Simmondsia chinensis), which is native to the deserts of North America and Mexico. Botanically speaking, jojoba oil is not an oil, but a liquid wax – and thus very similar to the natural human sebum. This unique property makes it one of the most valuable vegetable oils in cosmetics.

Manufacturing

The oil is obtained by cold pressing the jojoba seeds. This gentle process preserves all natural active ingredients and provides a stable, oxidation-resistant oil.

Effect on the skin

  • Regulating: Jojoba oil regulates the skin's sebum production – it cares for dry skin and at the same time helps to reduce excessive sebum production in oily skin.
  • Skin-identical: Its structure is similar to natural skin sebum, which is why it is particularly well absorbed.
  • Non-comedogenic: It does not clog pores and is ideal for blemish-prone skin.
  • Antioxidant: The high vitamin E content protects the skin from free radicals.

Suitable for which skin type

Suitable for all skin types – especially valuable for oily, impure and sensitive skin.
