Origin
Rice bran oil is extracted from the outer layer of the rice grain (Oryza sativa) – the so-called rice bran, which is produced when polishing rice. It has been known in Asian beauty care for centuries and is considered a secret for the famous, even skin of Japanese women.
Production
The oil is obtained by cold pressing or extraction from the rice bran. It is rich in gamma-oryzanol, vitamin E, phytosterols and essential fatty acids.
Effect on the skin
- Brightening: Gamma-oryzanol inhibits melanin production and helps to reduce hyperpigmentation and even out the complexion.
