Chamomile (Chamomile)

INCI name: Anthemis Nobilis Flower Extract / Matricaria Chamomilla Extract

Origin

Chamomile is one of the oldest medicinal plants in the world and has been used in medicine and cosmetics for thousands of years. There are two main types: Roman chamomile (Anthemis nobilis) and German chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla). Both are native to Europe and are cultivated worldwide. The active ingredient bisabolol, which occurs naturally in chamomile, is particularly known for its skin-soothing properties.

Production

The extract is obtained by steam distillation or extraction of chamomile flowers. The protective essential oil and bioactive compounds such as bisabolol and apigenin are preserved in the process.
