Origin

Rice bran oil is extracted from the outer layer of the rice grain (Oryza sativa) – the so-called rice bran, which is produced during rice polishing. It has been known in Asian beauty care for centuries and is considered the secret to the famous, even skin of Japanese women.

Production

The oil is obtained from rice bran by cold pressing or extraction. It is rich in gamma-oryzanol, vitamin E, phytosterols, and essential fatty acids.

Effect on the skin

  • Brightening: Gamma-oryzanol inhibits melanin production and helps to reduce hyperpigmentation and even out the skin tone.
  • Antioxidant: The high vitamin E content protects the skin from free radicals and premature aging.
  • Light and non-comedogenic: The oil absorbs quickly and leaves no greasy feeling.
