Sunflower Seed Oil (Sunflower Seed Oil)

INCI name: Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil

Origin

Sunflower oil is obtained from the seeds of the sunflower (Helianthus annuus), which originally came from North America and is now cultivated worldwide. It is one of the most commonly used vegetable oils in cosmetics, known for its light texture and high skin compatibility.

Production

The oil is obtained by cold-pressing sunflower seeds. Cold-pressed sunflower oil retains all natural active ingredients such as vitamin E, phytosterols, and essential fatty acids.

Effect on the skin

  • Light and fast-absorbing: Sunflower oil has a light texture and is quickly absorbed by the skin without leaving a greasy feeling.
  • Strengthens the skin barrier: The high linoleic acid content supports the skin's natural protective function.
  • Antioxidant: Vitamin E protects the skin from free radicals and oxidative stress.
  • Moisturizing: It helps the skin retain moisture and improve its appearance.

Suitable for which skin type

Suitable for all skin types, especially recommended for dry, sensitive, and mature skin.
